FIELD NOTES:

Pythona: The Great Golobulus’s priestess, herald, and executioner.

For generations, Himalayan elders have told tales of a serpent-like priestess and warrior who was born from a tear of the Sky Mother, who wept when humans first climbed so high they disturbed the sacred clouds. That tear froze as it fell to the earth and cracked open like an egg against the peak of Tserim Kang.

Or so it goes…

There are many who believe that this sacred narrative explains Pythona’s ancient origin.

Paul Panfalone

Paul Panfalone is a Cleveland, OH based artist and toy photographer. He spent his childhood dreaming up stories using action figures in the backyard of his home in East Aurora, NY, appropriately nicknamed “Toytown”. Now as an adult (sort of), he imagines new worlds with those same figures and lives their adventures through the lens of his camera, much like he did back home, over thirty years ago.
