ARCHIVIST NOTES

Recondo traced Zartan across the globe so many times I lost count a long time ago. While Zartan was simply seeking to enrich himself with more ill-gotten gains, Recondo seemingly got his reward from the chase itself.

The Joes always said that Recondo won the standoffs fair and square, letting Zartan slip away only because killing him wasn’t the mission.

Cobra’s side insisted Zartan let him live each time, a professional courtesy between equals — the cat sparing the mouse, so the game could go on.

They both reveled in the rivalry. One that dates all the way back to the very beginnings of the conflict.

No official records were kept about their numerous encounters, but the stories told amongst the rank and file on both sides is where the legend lives on.
